This beginners weekend is the perfect opportunity to get a taste of ceramics. Try Slab building a couple of mugs, make some pinch spice pots and have a go at throwing on the potters’ wheel.

Our throwing and hand building weekenders will be led by one of our expert teachers. Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience, we will be covering different making techniques in each 4 hour day session. You will be able to create up to 4 pieces to take home with you, choose from a selection of our studio glazes for to perfect finish.

Saturday - learn how to wedge clay and have a go at handbuilding techniques such as pinching, coiling and slabbing. Learn the basics on the potters wheel and practise making some small vessels.

Sunday - trim your thrown pots, refine the pieces you made the day before. Learn about surface decoration and choose your glazes.

Refreshments will be provided, you are welcome to relax in our kitchen area or outside in the new developed green space.
