Learn to make your own Incense with The Perfume Mistress

Join us for an introductory session exploring the ancient, devotional art of Incense.  This creative, practical workshop focuses on using premium fragrant materials; such as resins, herbs, fruits, flowers, seeds, spices and essential oils selected for their historic, therapeutic, and fragrant use.

You will be introduced to a variety of plant botanicals and essential oils, via smell and touch. We will explore their history and uses, and you will learn how to select and blend them to create your own beautiful and unique incense to take home with suggestions of blending and adapting recipes at home.

We shall be making TWO sets of incense: one batch of cones and individual batches of loose incense.

Due to the technical nature of cone incense, we shall first make a batch blend as a group, so that you all take home one set of finished cones of the same fragrance.

We’ll also learn how to create functional incense holders using 3 different templates and hand built techniques, you’ll have the opportunity to personalise your pieces.

Express yourself through carving intricate details, experimenting with textures, or incorporating symbolic motifs. Let your imagination run wild as you craft a one-of-a-kind incense holder that reflects your individual style.

Firing and Glazing

You’ll be able to choose from a selection of our in-house glazes - pieces will be fired and glazed ready for you to collect 4 - 5 weeks later.
